Our Programs

Primier Media's programs are unique for the following reasons:

1. Countering stereotypes:

Media narratives that portray Africa and African people in a positive light can help counter negative stereotypes that have long been perpetuated by the media. By portraying Africa and African people as diverse, dynamic, and capable, media narratives can challenge the idea that Africa is a monolithic, impoverished continent.

2. Highlighting successes:

Good media narratives can showcase the successes and achievements of African people and communities, which can help to build confidence and self-esteem. This can in turn foster a sense of pride and optimism among African people, and help to counter the narrative of Africa as a continent plagued by poverty, conflict, and underdevelopment.

3. Encouraging investment:

Positive media narratives can also help to attract investment to Africa by highlighting the continent’s potential as a thriving and dynamic market. By showcasing successful businesses and entrepreneurs, media narratives can help to change perceptions of Africa as a “lost cause” and encourage investment in the continent’s economy.

4. Fostering cross-cultural understanding:

Good media narratives can also help to foster cross-cultural understanding by providing a window into the lives and experiences of people from different parts of the world. This can help to break down stereotypes and prejudices, and promote greater empathy and understanding between different cultures.

Primier Media has been dedicated to this cause for the last few years to break the cycle of negative journalism which the West has fostered on Africa and African people for so long. That is why our programming is centered on highlighting Africans and African Americans who are doing great and marvelous works. We are here to inform, empower and uplift Africa, African Americans and the African Diaspora through educational programs which is our trademark.

A word from the CEO

The Media

In this world of constant noise and turmoil,
The media stands as a beacon of light,
A source of truth that we cannot foil,
A guide that helps us make things right.

From newspapers to TV channels,
From websites to social media feeds,
The media brings us news and angles,
On the happenings of our world with speed.

It brings us stories of love and loss,
Of triumphs and tragedies alike,
It helps us learn from our own flaws,
And keeps our minds open and bright.

It holds power to shape our views,
To influence our thoughts and beliefs,
To bring to light what’s hidden from our muse,
And to expose those who deceive.

The media upholds democracy,
And keeps the powerful in check,
It holds truth as its greatest policy,
And keeps us informed without neglect.

So let us cherish the media’s role,
And respect its importance in our lives,
For it helps us see the world as a whole,
And keeps us from being blind to lies.

African Americans and Africans

African Americans and Africans have a shared history of oppression and struggle for freedom. While African Americans have made significant strides in their fight for civil rights, the continent of Africa continues to face numerous challenges such as poverty, lack of infrastructure, and political instability. However, African Americans can play a significant role in the development of Africa by leveraging their resources, skills, and knowledge.

Investment: African Americans have a significant amount of wealth and resources that can be invested in African economies. By investing in African businesses, African Americans can create jobs, generate income, and help stimulate economic growth. Additionally, African Americans can provide financial assistance to African entrepreneurs and start-ups through microfinance initiatives and other funding opportunities.

Another way African Americans can contribute to the development of Africa is through education. African Americans have access to world-class education and can use their knowledge and skills to support education initiatives in Africa. African Americans can volunteer as teachers, mentors, or tutors in African schools and universities. They can also provide financial support to educational institutions and scholarship programs to help African students access quality education.

African Americans can also contribute to the development of Africa through cultural exchange programs. African Americans can share their culture, music, and art with African communities, and in return, learn about African culture and history. This cultural exchange can foster understanding and cooperation between African Americans and Africans and help build stronger ties between the two communities.

In addition, African Americans can use their political influence to advocate for policies that promote economic growth, human rights, and democracy in Africa. African Americans can also support African-led initiatives that address issues such as poverty, healthcare, and education.

In conclusion, African Americans can play a significant role in the development of Africa through investment, education, cultural exchange, and advocacy. By leveraging their resources, skills, and knowledge, African Americans can help create a more prosperous, stable, and equitable Africa. By working together, we can create a brighter future for both communities because we are one.

The Hunter and the Lion: A Perspective on the Glorification of the Hunter

The story of the hunter and the lion is a well-known fable that has been part of human culture for many centuries. The story usually goes that a skilled hunter goes into the wilderness to hunt a lion. After a fierce battle, the hunter emerges victorious, and the lion is either killed or driven away. The hunter is then celebrated as a hero for his bravery and skill. However, this simplistic portrayal of the story overlooks the fact that the lion is also a living being with his own perspective. What if the lion could tell his side of the story? Would the hunter still be glorified?

1. The Glorification of the Hunter

The hunter is typically portrayed as the hero in the story, and his bravery and skill are celebrated. He is often depicted as a fearless and skilled warrior who is willing to risk his life to protect his community from dangerous predators. This portrayal can be seen in various cultural references, including literature, art, and movies.
However, this glorification of the hunter overlooks the fact that hunting is often a cruel and inhumane practice that causes pain and suffering to animals. It also ignores the fact that hunters often kill animals for sport rather than necessity. In addition, the portrayal of the hunter as a hero reinforces the idea that humans are superior to animals and have the right to dominate and control them. In other words, some racial groups feel they are the only ones who’s perspectives matter and should be told. The lion has his perspective and so does the hunter. Both perspectives matter.

2. The Lion’s Perspective

What if the lion could tell his side of the story? From the lion’s perspective, the hunter is not a hero but an aggressor who invades his territory and threatens his life. The lion is not an evil or malicious creature, but simply a predator trying to survive in a harsh and unforgiving environment. The lion’s perspective challenges the one-sided portrayal of the hunter and highlights the need to consider the ethical implications of hunting.

However, the lion’s perspective is often overlooked, and the hunter is glorified for his bravery and skill. The same can be said about the continent of Africa whose history has for the most part been written by non Africans. It is time for African people to rise up and tell their side of the story.
