MANGOCHI, MALAWI — Zambian artist Chris Aka has made history as the first international Zambian artist booked for the prestigious Sand Music Festival, set for 25th to 27th September 2026 at Nkopola Leisure Centre in Mangochi, Malawi.

The announcement marks a major milestone for Zambian music on the regional stage.

On a Facebook post, Chris Aka expressed gratitude and pride at the opportunity to represent Zambia.

“This is bigger than me. This is for Zambia. I’m coming to represent our sound, our culture, and to give you a performance you’ll never forget,” he said.

The Sand Music Festival is one of Southern Africa’s biggest annual music and lifestyle events, drawing thousands of fans from across the region to the shores of Lake Malawi.

Chris Aka called on Zambians and fans across the region to turn up in numbers.
“Tickets are out. Pull up. Bring your friends. Bring the energy. This is one event you do NOT want to miss. Let’s make memories together.”

The booking underscores the growing international recognition of Zambian talent and culture.
