Primier Media extends heartfelt congratulations to Zambia’s President-Elect, His Excellency Hakainde Hichilema, on retaining the mandate to lead the Republic of Zambia.
According to results declared by the Electoral Commission of Zambia on 18 August 2026, President-Elect Hichilema secured 60% of the vote, ahead of his main challenger Mr. Brian Mundubile with 38%.
In his address to the nation at Community House, President Hichilema expressed gratitude to Zambians for their participation and commended the country for upholding peace and democratic principles. He pledged to serve all citizens equally and highlighted the success of the Free Education policy, which has seen over 2.6 million learners return to school.
“Education is the best investment, it is the best equalizer,” the President stated.
As Zambia embarks on this new chapter, we wish His Excellency strength, wisdom, and success. May this new term bring prosperity, unity, peace, and continued development for all Zambians.
